qsl - Amateur Radio

Welcome to NZ5V's QTH on the Internet

So, who is this NZ5V guy, anyway?

Well, my name is Gary L. Peterson, and I am a Ham Radio Operator. Most likely, you are too, if you found your way over here to this web site.

Check out my Ham Station, Workbench, and the Machine Shop.

Ok, I know you are wondering what the "heck" a machine shop has to do with Ham Radio. It's hardly electronic, right? Guess again.

Ever see a duplexer? It's about as mechanical as it gets.

Then there are antennas, which if you make them so that they don't crumple in the wind -I have had a 100mph front through here, that is how the 4 element tribander had to be worked on. It broke three of the four clamps on the rotor mast!

I'm just glad the tower was still standing, even if the antenna was at quite an angle.

If you have technical questions about anything you have seen here, please feel free to drop me a line, I'd enjoy hearing from you.

73!

Gary - NZ5V
